Yacht Stirs Mystery in US Harbor: ‘Still There Since Yesterday’

A concerned resident shared a picturean extremely large boat in San Diego Bay. They questioned if anyone had information about its owner.

“Do you have any idea whose boat has been moored in the harbor for the past day?” the original poster asked.r/SanDiegosubreddit. “It has been here since yesterday and hasn’t shifted.”

The original poster also mentioned that the yacht, spotted in the Little Italy neighborhood, featured “many colorful lights” and had been the site of a gathering the night before.

The actual scale of the superyacht is evident from the smaller boats nearby in the lower part of the image, which appear very small in comparison to the enormous ship in the background.

Some critics tried to determine the person who owns the boat, even though one person made an incorrect assumption.

However, someone provided the correct response.

I believed it belonged to Dennis Washington,another said. 

A rapid online search connected the vessel in question to the superyacht Attessa V owned by a Montana billionaire. The yacht is typically distinguished by smooth, flowing lines that define the boat’s windows and deck sections.

This is not the first instance where a vessel from Washington has been observed in San Diego’s waters.

In October 2018, Washington’s former superyacht, the Attessa IV, was part of a deadly boat accident involving the fishing vessel Prowler, near San Diego, as reported by theGreat Falls Tribune. It led to the death of retiree Richard Neff, 66.

According to ABC10 News San Diego, the impact caused damage to the right side of the deck. There were two additional injuries that occurred on the boat that evening. As the Tribune pointed out, Washington was not present on the vessel at that time.

Washington’s boat is merely an obvious display of affluence and elitism, showing no concern for the environmental impact of such opulent living.
